The fire happened at an apartment complex at 1630 Worcester Road on Saturday night.

Firefighters were able to put out the flames, but not before the damage was done. Multiple apartments were left uninhabitable. One unit on the fourth floor sustained significant damage, Framingham Fire Chief Michael Dutcher said.

Fire investigators did not say what sparked the blaze.

Four fighters who were taken to a local hospital for minor injuries have since been released, according to a Facebook update on Monday, Oct. 30. A pregnant woman was also transported for treatment following the blaze, Dutcher said.

Most of the 40 residents who were displaced returned to their apartments on Sunday, the update said. But 4th West residents at 1630 Worcester Road remain without a home.

The management company of the apartment complex and the American Red Cross will continue to help those in need.

Framingham received help from Marlborough, Southborough, Wayland, and Sherborn fire departments, the Facebook post said.
